Summary of Duties:
Under general direction, the Personnel and Payroll Specialist leads and provides coordination of the School's processes for personnel policy management and ensure effective delivery of payroll activities. This position independently advises faculty and staff regarding applicable personnel, fiscal and payroll information, policies, and procedures related to the responsibilities assigned to the position. This position will work with personnel from HRS, Payroll Services, International Programs, the Graduate School, Student Financial Services and peer university departments among other areas. Key position responsibilities include working with the School and College's administrators, faculty, lab managers, and staff on personnel planning, including fiscal analysis and forecasting. This position oversees and ensures the completion of the bi-monthly payroll processes, time and leave reports reviews for all personnel including hourly employees, tracks volunteer activity and maintains all personnel records for the School. This position establishes and maintains personnel tracking reports, reconciles and analyzes the Schools position funding (PBL), department reserve activity, provides monthly analysis and funding forecasts and when needed will be assigned to special projects regarding personnel for the School's Director and Administrative Manager. This position is responsible for maintaining and communicating current personnel policy, managing appointment and funding assignments for research, instruction and operational appointments, making recommendations and taking corrective action when necessary to ensure the effective management of the School's personnel and payroll operations.

Required Qualifications:
Two years of experience at a level equivalent to Fiscal Specialist 1 AND 15 quarter hours OR 10 semester hours of college level accounting; OR equivalent education/experience.
