The Department of Communication at Curry College invites applications for a full-time Assistant Professor in Communication Studies to begin in Fall 2018. The professor should specialize in the study of relational communication, preferably in the context of interpersonal, small group, and/or health communication. The ability to teach a wide range of courses is preferred. In addition to courses in the Communication Studies concentration, the professor will be expected to teach courses in the Communication major’s core curriculum, including Fundamentals of Communication, Communication Inquiry (Research/Theory), and Senior Seminar.

Candidates should be dedicated to teaching excellence, and we seek professors with a strong commitment to student engagement, high professional standards, and to maintaining an active professional/research agenda. Faculty participate in academic advising and in college-wide and departmental service, including but not limited to serving on institutional committees.

Required Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in Communication Studies or a related field required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong background in quantitative research methods.
  • Ability to take a leadership role in guiding the Fundamentals of Communication course.
  • Experience in building new co-curricular activities, or contributing to existing ones, for Communication majors will be considered a plus.
