Position Description: Texas State University is classified as a Doctoral University (R2: Higher Research Activity) by the Carnegie Foundation, and a major university goal is to continue enhancing its research profile. To this end, the Department of Psychology seeks to hire faculty members with the training, skills, and career objectives to support a potential Ph.D. program in clinical psychology, with a clinical neuropsychology track. Although approval of the Ph.D. program is not assured, the department is interested in candidates who would fully participate in and contribute to such a program.
The successful candidate will be expected to 1) develop and maintain an active research program in the area of clinical psychology, broadly construed; 2) involve undergraduate and graduate students in research; 3) actively seek and maintain external funding; 4) teach relevant undergraduate and graduate courses; and 5) participate in service as a good departmental citizen.

Ph.D. in clinical psychology or a closely related field by the time of appointment.
To be eligible for hire at an advanced rank the candidate must meet the requirements for that rank as established by the department. The successful applicant will receive the appropriate rank and title based on university and department established standards.

Associate Professor or Professor
