Human Resources Coordinator (Temp PT 25 hrs/wk)

General Summary:
Entry-level position assisting with a variety of Human Resource functions. Perform duties characterized by the demand for considerable initiative and independent judgment; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with college officials and correctly convey information to these constituencies.

Work location and additional information:
This is a temporary part-time position with option for medical benefits at full employee cost.

Campus: Office of College Services

Days and Hours (for hourly position):
Monday - Friday 9:00 am - 2:00 pm (flexible)

Schedule may be required to change to meet the needs of the department and personnel coverage.

Job Specifications:
Associate's degree in human resources or business-related field or at least 60 college credits in a related field preferred. Must have two (2) years experience working in either a Human Resources Department or administrative offices. Must be organized, outgoing, customer focused, detail oriented, and have the ability to multitask. Must be proficient in Excel, Word, and Outlook, typing required. Work experience using an online recruitment tool and content management system preferred.

Job Duties:
1. Provide administrative support to head of the department
2. Plan, research, organize and coordinate special projects and programs
3. Provide support in functional areas of human resources, which may include recruitment and employment, personnel records, benefits and others as assigned.
4. Assist with the recruitment and hiring of new employees, utilizing web based recruitment system and correspond with inquiries, questions, and password resets regarding employment website.
5. Responsible for filing of employee documents into personnel files, assist with verifying, running online reports, and data entry of I-9 forms, and data entry into applicant tracking systems including race and sex for IPEDS.
6. Receive/manage transcripts and administrative attendance records and enter data on HRIS and/or database.
7. Assist in the testing of employees during recruiting for posted positions and for temporary pools.
8. Compose and type a variety of complex reports, forms, memos, and correspondence; compose correspondence independently as appropriate.
9. Work with material related to matters concerning labor relations and employment issues.
10. Act in a confidential capacity and access labor relations policy data upon request.
11. Compile data for contracts, audits, government requirements, and college-wide reports; perform related calculations; and verify own work for accuracy and completeness.
12. Develop and maintain complex filing systems containing highly confidential materials including confidential files and specific records relating to the effectuation of the labor relations agreements.
13. Interact with faculty, staff, and outside agencies to exchange information.
14. Arrange for conferences and special events which includes preparing agenda, contacting participants, vendors, scheduling facilities, and etc.
15. Work with Marketing Department on HR materials
16. Develop and implement forms and recommend procedural changes to enhance the efficiency of operations.
17. Prepare materials for bulk mailings.
18. Perform other related duties as required or assigned.
