Degree and Area of Specialization:
BS or BA in biology or microbiology is required.
Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:
At least one year of lab experience working with animals is preferred.
Must be comfortable working with biohazards such as viruses and bacteria.
Must be comfortable wearing personal protective equipment such as gloves, N95 mask, goggles, lab coat when handling animals and biohazards.
Should be familiar with Microsoft Excel and Word.
The Brandt Laboratory tests antiviral and anitbacterial compounds in animal models and in cell culture. This position will work primarily with animals to assess the effectiveness of antimicrobial compounds on ocular diseases caused by viruses and bacteria.
This postion will be for one year. This position may be extended up to one additional year and/or converted to a renewable position contingent upon available funding.
