Job Summary:

Under the general supervision of the Appeals/Special Events Supervisor, this position provides front line customer service/transportation information to over 60,000 faculty, staff, students, and over six million visitors to the campus each year. Activities include tasks performed in the appeals office and front-line customer service (in-person, on the telephone and by mail) for a variety of parking programs, policies, and processes. Program responsibilities include daily management of the Appeals Office, processing appeals from citations issued by Field Services and University of Wisconsin Police Department personnel. Research license information and vehicle registration suspensions. Ensure efficient and appropriate customer service: interpret and explain Transportation Services policies/procedures. This requires extensive knowledge of complex transportation policies and procedures to ensure accurate and timely information is relayed to the customer. The position requires proficient customer service skills to handle a large volume of contacts, difficult and stressful interactions, and delivery of "bad news" (difficult decisions/information) to demanding customers. This position is also responsible for updating computer databases and spreadsheets with accurate citation information, customer contact information, suspensions and satisfactions and processing transactions accurately. This position is responsible for providing a high level of customer service and a positive image representing the Transportation Services Department and the University. This position functions closely with other Department staff, working as a team, and providing consistent and high quality function and interpretation of Transportation business policies.
