Job Summary/Basic Function: The Department of Counseling, Health, and Kinesiology seeks applicants for a full-time, tenure-track appointment for a Full Professor of Guidance and Counseling. The Counseling program is a robust program with an active faculty devoted to teaching and scholarship. The successful candidate will teach graduate classes in CACREP core and specialty areas and will assist in providing guidance and leadership to the specialty area of marriage, couple & family counseling; maintain an active research agenda; supervise master's level students; assist with CACREP accreditation process including self-study; and fulfill service responsibilities to the Department of Counseling, Health, and Kinesiology and the university, as well as advancing the counseling profession. Candidates will be expected to work in collaboration with other colleagues in the Department of Counseling, Health, and Kinesiology and community partners. Faculty members will be expected to supervise practicum students.

Education

Necessary Qualifications: Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision

18 graduate hours in each field in which candidate will teach

Preferred Qualifications: Graduate of a CACREP accredited doctoral program

Experience

Necessary Qualifications: Experience working with culturally diverse population.
Minimum of seven years of university teaching experience including advising and supervising graduate students.
Record of scholarly activity commensurate with the rank of Full Professor.
Minimum of two years of administrative experience in a CACREP program that includes providing administrative leadership/guidance to clinical mental health and marriage, couple and family counseling programs.
Direct experience with CACREP accreditation process.

Preferred Qualifications: (1) Licensure as a Professional Counselor;
(2) administrative experience in a CACREP program that includes the specialty in the areas of clinical mental health and marriage, couple and family counseling;
(3) experience working as a Mental Health Counseling Professional; and (4) experience providing oversight to a Counseling clinic.
