The individual in a temporary part-time lecturer position will teach courses on a semester-by-semester appointment, subject to course and budget availability. Must be open to using electronic media for instruction, such as CANVAS (Learning Management System) and Livetext, as courses at UCD can be offered as face-to-face, hybrid, or online.
Teaching assignments may fluctuate and are contingent upon the schedule of courses offered each term, the required number of student enrollments in your tentatively scheduled course(s), and budget availability. Thus, we cannot guarantee that you will teach particular courses or that you will actually teach in a given term.

EDUC 5751 through EDUC 5754
These courses are the first of four sequential classes offered by the SEHD ALPS program that make our students eligible for a Colorado Principal's license.
EDUC 5751 - Principal/Administrator Licensing I
This program section (1 of 4) combines foundational learning activities in leadership, curriculum and supervision, school improvement, and the school environment via distance learning and face-to-face sessions. Field applications are related to these foundations, and students will develop, establish, and pursue goals for clinical-practice activities. Assessment is by performance-based submission to LIVETEXT. Prereq.: admission to the program.
EDUC 5752 - Principal/Administrator Licensing II
This program section (2 of 4) combines work toward advanced learning goals in leadership, curriculum and supervision, school improvement, and the school environment via distance-learning and face-to-face sessions that build on the foundational learning activities in EDUC 5751 and related clinical practice activities. Students will continue to pursue goals for clinical-practice activities. Assessment is by performance-based submission to LIVETEXT. Prereq.: completion of EDUC 5751.
EDUC 5753 - Principal/Administrator Licensing III
This program section (3 of 4) combines work toward advanced learning goals in leadership, curriculum and supervision, school improvement, and the environment via distance learning and face-to-face sessions that build on the learning activities in EDUC 5752 and related clinical-practice activities. Students will continue to pursue goals for clinical-practice activities. Assessment is by performance-based submission to LIVETEXT. Prereq.: completion of EDUC 5752.
EDUC 5754 - Principal/Administrator Licensing IV
This program section (4 of 4) combines work toward advanced learning goals in leadership, curriculum and supervision, school improvement, and the environment that build on the learning activities in EDUC 5753 via distance learning and face-to-face sessions with related clinical-practice activities. Students will complete learning and clinical-practice activities. Assessment is by performance-based submission to LIVETEXT. Prereq: completion of EDUC 5753.
- Evidence of understanding of historic and present day sociocultural issues that influence and are influenced by education, as well as a commitment to social justice.
- Experience with culturally, linguistically, and economically diverse communities, knowledge of urban school issues.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- The applicant must have the knowledge and skills and the ability to evaluate educator learning and performance that we require of faculty members recruited to teach in one or more of our ALPS programs.
- Experience as a school level administrator.
- Holds, or is eligible to hold, a Colorado Principal's license.
Salary and Benefits:
The salary for this position has been established at $4,350 per 3 credit course taught. This amount is adjusted according to workload (up to two courses per term). This will be a semester-by-semester appointment, with the possibility of renewal.
