Serves as the HR Generalist for the Facilities Services and Architects & Engineers (A&E) departments responsible for the coordination and delivery of a variety of human resources services. The HR Generalist advises and provides consultation to management on workforce planning, compensation and classification, job descriptions, recruitment, personnel policies and procedures, and other areas of HR. Serves as a point of contact for a diverse workforce, including unionized staff; responds to inquiries, questions, requests, and concerns. Provides high-level analytical and administrative support to the Facilities Services/A&E Leadership, in collaboration with the HR Business Partner in the implementation and delivery of HR services and programs, including employee relations, performance management program administration and reporting, compensation programs, leave administration, departmental policy development/revisions, payroll, training and development, and other ad hoc requests for reports and information. Gathers and analyzes human resources data for Facilities Services/A&E and organizational management. Represents Facilities Services/A&E as an experienced HR professional on campus-wide workgroups and committees ensuring departmental needs are appropriately represented and addressed. This position is characterized by a high degree of collaboration and coordination in the delivery of HR Services to support Facilities Services/A&E, partnering with the HR Business Partner, Shared Services, and other centralized university units or departments. Facilities Services is one of the largest departments at UC Riverside employing nearly 400 career employees. Facilities Services provides exceptional service in maintaining an environment conducive of teaching, learning, living, working and research for the entire campus community. The department maintains buildings, facilities and landscape totaling over 6 million square feet across 1,350 acres of campus. Has thorough knowledge of human resources concepts, policies and procedures, employment practices, labor relations, salary administration, training and other areas of human resources.

Ability to interact and work collaboratively and effectively with diverse populations of university personnel, departments, and organizations.
Ability to manage and maintain sensitive and confidential information and documents at all times.
Promotes and models exceptional customer service orientation in all interactions with University personnel, departments, and organizations.
Has thorough knowledge of organizational policies and procedures; knowledge of functional area and understands how work may impact other areas.
Knows the university's Human Resources Management System (HRMS) and other related business software programs and systems.
Working knowledge of collective bargaining agreements and policies for AFSCME Service (SX), Skilled Crafts - IUOE #501 (K5), and the Clerical and Allied Services (CX) bargaining units.
Working knowledge of federal and California state laws related to medical, personal, and other leaves. Ability to provide leave counseling and administration.
