Positions within this job code must meet the requirements for the FLSA Professional Exemption based upon salary and documented job responsibilities. Responsible for planning, designing, and developing original scientific research studies.
Analyzes existing methodologies, formulates hypotheses, and develops new protocol. Collects, synthesizes, studies, reports, and produces results based on data derived from measurements or observations. Conducts multiple physical or life science research functions within project parameters.
Defines goals for research projects or experimental laboratory activities. May conduct field research.
Bachelors degree and three years experience related to the duties of this position; or a high school diploma.equivalent and seven years of experience related to the duties of this position.
(Note: a combination of post high school education and experience equal to six years.)
Experience with invasive plant species issues. Experience working with databases.
Experience in developing and managing projects. Experience with vegetation monitoring and evaluating results.
Ability to use and understand botanical technical manuals and identification keys.
Knowledge of invasive species issues in Florida.
Ability to communicate invasive species issues clearly to the lay public.
Knowledge of and appreciation for the power and usefulness of GIS
Bachelors degree in Science related field and three years experience.
Graduate degree in Botany or Conservation Science.
Experience with and/or course work in the flora, fauna, ecology and/or natural history of Florida or the Southeastern U.S.
Anticipated Salary Range
Minimum salary rand 47, 659.
This is an A&P (Administrative and Professional) position.
