General Description of Position:

The Feed Science Post-Doc will be responsible for training graduate students and undergraduate students to operate feed manufacturing equipment as well as conduct swine and poultry trials.  The person will also develop feed manufacturing and animal growth trial protocols, conduct research, and write final reports.

The Successful Candidate will:

To work independently to design, execute, and analyze data from swine, poultry, and feed processing experiments.

Conduct independent research in the area of feed manufacturing and feed safety.

Conduct poultry and swine growth studies

Train under graduates and graduates how to perform feed and ingredient quality control methods (mycotoxins, PDI, particle size, mixer uniformity, etc)

Give presentations and lectures at the local, state, national, and international workshops and conferences.

Required Minimum Qualifications:

Ph.D. in monogastric or ruminant nutrition or equivalent.  Experience in feed manufacturing research and the ability to operate a pellet mill.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in animal food safety and feed quality assurance.

Experience in conducting nursery and finishing swine research.

Experience in conducting battery and floor pen poultry research.
