This advanced-level position supports the strategic marketing and advertising goals of the university. The Mktg/Advertising Professional III develops sophisticated concepts and copy for advertisements, slogans, brochures, and various other types of collateral to help advertise and/or market the university (or program, department, or college) as needed by the department or unit. The Mktg/Advertising Professional III secures, maintains, and evaluates demographic, cost, and deadline information on various print, radio, television, online, outdoor, and other types of media outlets for advertising placement. Develops and implements recommended advertising placements and direct marketing strategies to accomplish short-term and long-term goals set by the department. This position also conducts benchmarking, researching, and reporting as it relates to the effectiveness of marketing efforts by the institution (or program, department, or college); and additional projects as assigned. The productivity level, volume of work, and enterprising nature of this professional position requires high output and little or no supervision.

The Social Media and Marketing Specialist will have primary responsibility for the social media strategy for University College. This position will develop content, which includes but is not limited to written text, photos, videos, and so forth, that will be used in social media campaigns and for marketing purposes. This position will also play a role in planning and executing college-level events and/or campus-wide events for which the college holds responsibility and in coordinating events hosted by college departments/units, as requested by the Dean. The position will be responsible for developing, maintaining, updating, and overseeing all social media at the college level and for serving as a consultant with all college units and programs in coordinating and administering their social media, as requested. The position will have a great deal of autonomy in developing the content that is disseminated through social media outlets and will serve as the “face of the college” in that regard. Consequently, this position must exercise excellent independent judgement in determining the content that is shared in various venues and must have professional content development expertise.This position requires driving to multi-campus locations and event sites. This position requires purchasing of event related materials; therefore, the duties of this position will require use of a KSU Purchasing Card (P-Card).

Minimum hourly rate: $18.51

Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in related field and 3 years experience.

Desired Qualfications: Bachelor's in Marketing, Communication, or related field. Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work independently, highly motivated, creative thinker and problem solver, demonstrated resourcefulness in seeking information and resolving issues, outstanding technology skills, a thorough understanding of the effective use of social media, highly skilled in the use of various social media platforms and auto-posting tools, excellent writing and editing skills, excellent decision-making skills, ability to work well with and lead teams, detail oriented, ability to multi-task, excellent organizational skills; knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite. Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite; photography; videography; media production.
