The Graduate School
This position will work closely with the Assistant Dean for Business Operations, the Graduate Enrollment Team, and all Colleges and Departments to lead and enhance central and local recruitment and enrollment activities at the graduate level. The Assistant Director will also help design or improve, implement, and carryout recruitment plans for all College and Departments.
•Oversees the development and implementation of a comprehensive recruitment strategy that will identify, attract, admit, enroll and retain a highly qualified, diverse graduate student population.
•Directs the development of online recruitment materials, including email campaigns, fact sheets, applications and videos that are used in marketing to attract prospective students, and the development of Internet and web-based communications to enhance recruitment efforts.
•Works in collaboration with internal communications, colleges and departments, admissions and the Graduate School enrollment team.
•Compile essential data related to graduate recruitment efforts and provide detailed analysis and reports.
•Conducts ROI analysis of recruitment and marketing campaigns to assess effectiveness of promotional strategies and pursues corrective actions for identified weaknesses.
•Collaborate to define marketing objectives, strategies and implementation plan for all graduate programs. Promotes internal and external communication between the Graduate School and vested constituencies such as marketing, admissions, recruiting, student services, and alumni relations.
•Works with recruiting, admissions and technology staff to implement appropriate training and maintain high productivity.
•Works with marketing and recruiting data to integrate within the Slate system.
•Collaborates with colleges and departments to assess program marketing needs, target audiences, messaging and positioning-local, national and international level.
•Collaborates with colleges, departments and external organizations to support partnership programs, maximize promotional opportunities, and launch new recruitment capacity-building strategies.
•Coordinates business processes for effective departmental and cross-departmental functions related to recruitment, admissions and enrollment.
•Works with marketing and recruiting data to produce reports as needed.
•Creates performance plan reports to demonstrate strategic plan goals and objectives.
•Works closely with the Graduate Student Enrollment team maintain a strong level of student engagement after admissions-leading to the orientation process.
•Works on special projects as assigned by the Assistant Dean.
•Performs other related duties as required or directed. This includes, but is not to, assignments from the Dean/Assistant Dean that are not otherwise stated and are deemed related to the position.
•Travels to industry and professional conferences to learn best practices.
•Bachelor’s degree and 4 years of experience in related field, or a high school diploma and 8 years of experience related to student recruitment, enrollment and engagement. (Note: a higher level of education in a related field may substitute for experience at the comparable rate.)
•Experience with progressively more responsible management and experience with student recruitment, enrollment and engagement.
•Demonstrated leadership skills in planning and directing recruitment, engagement and enrollment efforts.
•Excellent customer service, communication and interpersonal skills as well as demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with culturally and ethnically diverse populations.
•Demonstrated problem-solving and project management skills; ability to work independently and as a part of a team; and the ability to analyze data and make decisions relating to recruitment, enrollment and engagement of students.
•Experience counseling, recruiting and cultivating relationships with prospective and current students.
•Experience in developing and executing integrated marketing and recruitment strategies.
•Results-oriented and have excellent writing and listening skills, outstanding interpersonal and professional presentations skills, and a proven record of strong decision-making abilities that leverages analytics, experience and sound judgement for sound leadership.
•The capacity to work independently as well as with a team.
•Experience managing a Constituent Relationship Management (CRM) system.
•Knowledge of Florida State University academic programs and current marketing efforts.
This is an A&P (Administrative and Professional) position.
