Position Description

Advertised Job Summary

Performs a variety of administrative, receptionist, staff support and secretarial duties for College of Nursing Dean's Office.

Human Resources Director Assistance:
• Assists with preparation of human resources forms and correspondence (e.g., PBP documents, appointment letters, onboarding forms, etc.) and assists with scanning and mailing human resources paperwork to Employment, Salary Administration, and Payroll
• Receives and reviews applicant materials to ensure appropriate completion. Photocopies related documents (e.g., driver's license, social security card, passport, etc.)
• Assists with records preparation, filing, and archiving
• Provides CENTRAL data entry

Executive Assistant to the Dean Assistance:
• Assists with administrative tasks as related to payment requests, check requests, travel, etc.
• Assists with planning, organizing and implementing College of Nursing events/meetings
• Assists with records preparation, filing, and archiving
• Staffing events and representing the College of Nursing
• Performs other duties as assigned by the College of Nursing Dean

General Assistance:
• Maintains front desk area keeping it neat, organized and materials up-to-date
• Provides back-up: answering telephones and greets guests to include university administrators, faculty, staff, students, potential students and parents, and other distinguished members of the community
• Responsible for retrieval and distribution of incoming and outgoing mail for the Dean's Suite


Bachelor's degree and 1 year of work experience that is directly related to the area of employment, or high school diploma and 5 years work experience that is directly related to the area of employment; or equivalency. Requires average typing skills. Knowledge of Microsoft Office is required. Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills are required. Requires the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with faculty, administrators, staff, students and the general public. Must be customer service oriented.
