The Department of Emergency Medicine has an opening for a full-time, University Staff (unclassified) Data Analytics Developer (Business Services Principal Professional) position.

Job Summary:
Jobs in this career family provide general business operations of the organization or a combination of operational responsibilities covering multiple career families. Functions include institutional research, statistical analysis, policy development and review, strategic planning and broad unit business operations such as parking and transportation services, risk management, childcare services, real estate and property management, retail services or job responsibilities that combine fiscal, HR and operational management responsibilities.

Principal Professionals are responsible for exercising discretion, analytical skill, personal accountability and responsibility in a wide range of areas including academic, administrative, managerial and student services functions. Work involves creating, integrating, applying and sharing knowledge directly related to a professional field. Work is performed at an advanced or expert level.

Principal Professionals are either work leads over others or are considered a subject matter expert in a particular area.

Position Emphasis:

The Department of Emergency Medicine has an opening for a Data Analytics Developer. This position is directly accountable to the entire Emergency Department Service Line and will collect, analyze, abstract, and report on data using information technologies that support clinical/operational processes and departmental/organizational initiatives. This role also will act data analytic resource and subject matter expert for the Department.

Specific Duties:
  • Collaborates with business and technical teams to create and implement industry leading solutions.
  • Effectively collaborates with UCHealth providers and staff, faculty, analysts, as well as other institutions and resources.
  • Accountable for the analysis, including coordinating logistics, implementing protocols for data collection, and conducting qualitative and quantitative analysis.
  • Accountable for using best in class ways of working, processes and mechanisms that enable the delivery of high quality products and outcomes.
  • Performs extracts, validates, analyzes and reports on data from a variety of systems (Epic, TeleTracking, etc.) and data sources.
  • Collaborates on the design, implementation and evaluation of data analysis processes, including determining the metrics and methodologies to be used.
  • Presents analysis in requested formats to internal/external audiences as required.

PLEASE NOTE: Candidates will be responsible for travel expenses related to the interview process and any relocation expenses, if applicable.

Salary and Benefits:

The hiring salary for this position has been established at $51,200 - $67,072 and is commensurate with skills and experience. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
  • A bachelor's degree in business, business administration, finance, accounting , education, social sciences, healthcare administration, public administration, communications, information systems, or a directly related field from an accredited institution.
  • Three (3) years of professional, relevant analytics development experience.
  • Experience working with business intelligence and DB development tools such as PowerBI Pro, R, Excel, SSAS, etc.
  • Experience working with project management tools (MS Project), as well as computer-based tools (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.).

Substitution: A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year for year basis, but not for the specific experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in related discipline from an accredited institution.
  • Prior experience in a healthcare or higher education setting.
  • Experience with Lean Six Sigma.
