ANNUAL (12 months)
Degree and Area of Specialization:
Ph.D. in chemistry, biochemistry, or related field required. Additional degree in education-related field preferred.
Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:
Minimum of 2 years of experience teaching chemistry at the high school or undergraduate level in an interactive learning environment is required.
Excellent supervisory, instruction, communication, and interpersonal skills required. Must be self-motivated and dedicated to maintaining quality undergraduate chemistry education.
Demonstrated proficiency in laboratory implementation and with using a variety of computer applications required. Must be familiar with educational technology, academic assessment, and web-based technology.
License or certificate:
Teaching licensure/certification or equivalent professional experience preferred.
The General Chemistry Instructional Coordinator will partner with the General Chemistry instructional team and curriculum coordinator to design and develop materials for the General Chemistry curriculum. The incumbent will also teach Chemistry 103 (General Chemistry I) and/or Chemistry 104 (General Chemistry II).
