Degree and Area of Specialization:

MD, MD/PhD or DO - Board eligible or certified in Neurology. Stroke, Neurocritical Care or Neurohospitalist fellowship training or equivalent experience.



Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:

Stroke, Neurohospitalist or Neurocritical Care Subspecialty Fellowship training. Candidates for associate professor (CHS) or full professor (CHS) rank must meet criteria for appointment at rank per UW School of Medicine and Public Health guidelines for appointment and promotion on the CHS track.



Academic credentials and experience for appointment at the selected rank of a non-tenure School of Medicine and Public Health track focusing primarily on clinical and teaching excellence. Appointment at the rank of associate or full professor rank requires meeting criteria for appointment level as defined in School of Medicine and Public Health guidelines for promotion or appointment to associate professor or professor on the Clinical Health Sciences track.



License or certificate:

Licensed or eligible for Wisconsin medical license. Board eligible or certified in Neurology.



Position Summary:

The Department of Neurology at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health seeks neurohospitalists or stroke neurologists to join our expanding Neurohospitalist and Stroke Programs at UW Hospitals, VA Hospital and UW Health clinics. The positions includes opportunities for teaching, clinical and research activities in an academic environment with adult general and neurology subspecialists and faculty in other services including neuropsychology, neurosurgery, neuroradiology, clinical neurophysiology and basic science research faculty. Clinical activities will involve attending duties in neurology clinics and UW Health clinics and on inpatient services at the University of Wisconsin Hospitals.
