The internationally renowned Department of Kinesiology and Community Health ( within the College of Applied Health Sciences ( at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign ( is searching for outstanding candidates with a background in health systems and health administration. The Department is in the process of developing a Master of Health Administration program to expand upon our current robust undergraduate program, which prepares students to work in high-level health administration careers. We seek individuals with diverse backgrounds, training, and research portfolios that demonstrate a strong understanding of health administration. Successful applicants should have expertise in aspects of health administration such as finance, management, strategic planning, and quality improvement. Successful applicants will contribute to the Department's instructional mission, conduct research, and advance scholarship in their area of expertise. The position is a 9-month, tenure track appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor with a preferred start date of August 16, 2018.


Applicants must hold a doctoral degree in health administration or relevant field. The successful candidate is expected to develop and maintain an active externally funded research agenda and contribute to the instructional mission of the department. Applicants should provide evidence of a strong research program or the potential to develop one. Strong record of excellence in teaching at the undergraduate and graduate level is preferred. Record of successful leadership in health administration field is desired.

Salary is competitive based on a 9-month academic year appointment.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

Successful applicants will instruct in both the undergraduate and graduate curriculum and in more than one content area. While area of specialization is open, a successful candidate must be able to teach courses such as health systems, finance, management and other pertinent areas. Applicants with experience in any of these health administration areas will be considered.
