Visiting Assistant Professor - Management Information Systems
MANAGEMENT INFORMATION SYSTEMS: The Department of Business Administration and Accounting at Hartwick College invites applications for a full-time, three year annually renewable term appointment at the rank of Visiting Assistant Professor starting in August, 2018, pending final administrative approval. We seek candidates with expertise in Management Information Systems, with preference given to those with a PhD in Management Information Systems or a related discipline and evidence of professional experience, especially in the area of systems management or design. Minimum qualifications include an MBA from an AACSB accredited school, evidence of MIS expertise, and evidence of teaching excellence by the time of the appointment. Specific teaching assignments will include Introduction to Business, Business Information Systems, Business System Design, Operations, Risk Management and Compliance and possibly general education courses, including First Year Seminars. Teaching load will average 20 semester credit hours or their equivalent per academic year, and all faculty members teach during the College’s distinctive four-week January Term. Our department embraces entrepreneurship and promotes experiential and community-based learning in a small undergraduate liberal arts setting. The successful candidate must be committed to excellence and innovation in undergraduate teaching, active engagement in scholarly or creative activities, and working closely with diverse students in a small college environment. Developmental academic advising and some committee service also are expected with this appointment.
