Summary of Job Duties

The successful candidate will be responsible for the management of experiments in the greenhouse and field for testing of rice to abiotic stresses, evaluation of plant yield and quality, plant tissue culture and standard laboratory maintenance. The incumbent will assist with data entry and management, report preparation, and other responsibilities as designated.

B.S. in biology or related area,

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in basic statistics, plant genetics, and plant tissue culture techniques. Experience in plant biology is desirable.



Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs)

Knowledge of laboratory and record keeping procedures. Ability to assign and coordinate work activities of co-workers or subordinates. Ability to apply qualitative and quantitative techniques to complete a series of laboratory procedures. Ability to operate, and maintain common laboratory instruments. Ability to maintain precise records of technical processes and prepare reports. Ability to communicate effectively with others.

Physical Conditions The worker is subject to both environmental conditions. Activities occur inside and outside., The worker is subject to extreme heat. Temperatures above 100 degrees for periods of more than one hour. Consideration should be given to the effect of other environmental conditions, such as wind and humidity.
