Position Summary

Will provide a variety of clinical research informatics support for large and small projects; works independently with clients to analyze problems and needs, and develops solutions for data collection tools, data management, and other study support; trains and supports client field staff in data collection methods, interaction with subjects, and quality control measures; create data management code (e.g.S AS) and reviews the code developed by others for accuracy and functional integrity. Responsibilities of this position include creation and maintenance of end user documentation, manuals, and training materials; leading testing,validation, documentation, and maintenance protocols in support of the study management program; security of personally identifying information; quality control measures; and participating in meetings and conference calls with research sponsors and/or investigators. Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills are essential. Candidate will adhere to policies of regulatory compliance and good practices, and complete IRB and data security training.

 

This position reports to the Manager of Project Services.

 

Unit Specific Education/Experience/Skills

Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired though a four-year college degree program in a related research field, preferably in a science, social science, statistics, computer science, or similar discipline, three to five years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in a biomedical or social science research support capacity related to the duties to be performed with faculty, investigators and/or staff, outside agencies, sponsors, and research participants, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

 

Desired Qualifications

Master's degree in science, epidemiology, social science, statistics, computer science,or similar discipline; graduate level courses in epidemiology or public health,or other demonstration or interest in professional or educational development; five or more years of experience in a biomedical, clinical trial, epidemiology, public health, or social science research support capacity; excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills necessary to facilitate interactions with faculty investigators, and/or staff, outside agencies,sponsors, and research participants; strong SAS skills, ability to write or review SAS code for data management, or experience with procedural languages(e.g. T-SQL, PL/SQL, or macro writing) is desired; demonstrated capability to independently manage small to medium-sized projects. Work experience in two or more of the following: research data collection, coordinating overall data management and other informatics support, client support, writing programs for data preparation for analysis, management systems software support, training staff in the use of informatics tools.
