Digital Communications Manager

Position Summary

The Digital Communications Manager will provide strategic input and manage online communication strategies through a combination of social, email and web management. The person in this position works with the Communications and Marketing teams as well as ANR Tech Services Web Team. Increases visibility and membership on social channels, creates and repurposes content for social channels; responds to general follower questions or concerns. Manages take overs of social media channels. Works across college departments and institutes on digital strategies (social, email, web), best practices guidelines (based on university’s), monitors, manages and suggests edits to official social media channels and postings. Develops analytics and reporting methods to measure performance of digital strategies, monitors social media tools in concert with director. Creates campaign strategies using digital marketing platforms and monitors performance over time. Stays updated on social media and digital trends, implements new platforms when appropriate. Provides training and support to leadership, departments and staff on social media and email management. Advises on email campaigns, and digital advertising. Coordinates and sometimes creates digital design for use on web, social media, and email.

Unit Specific Education/Experience/Skills

Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year college degree program in Communications, English or related discipline; one to three years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in social media management, knowledge of or experience in social media and digital marketing campaign management; experience in Adobe design programs; understanding of how to create inbound traffic strategies and digital marketing funnels, experience maintaining multiple social media channels (Facebook, Instagram, Linkedin, Twitter, YouTube and Snapchat); knowledge of keywords and descriptions; experience working in content management system and experience working with social media monitoring tools (Hootsuite, Sprinklr); understanding and ability to use Google Analytics and web accessibility; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Desired Qualifications

Self-starter who is a team player and can work independently and in a fast-paced environment; make sound decisions and prioritize effectively, has excellent interpersonal skills, attention to detail. Knowledge of HTML, Photoshop, InDesign, basic photography and graphic design are a plus; strong writing and editing skills.
