OFFICE ADMINISTRATOR, Research Compliance (8990/H1817)
The Office Administrator will provide full reception, secretarial and administrative support as required for the effective and efficient operation of the Boston University Animal Science Center (BUASC). Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: animal procurement, answering the phone, greeting incoming guests, process facility access applications, animal transfer/transport paperwork, import/exports, filing, data entry, general office and facility supply ordering.
Office administrator is expected to demonstrate: good attention to detail, ability to stay calm under pressure, organizational skills, and the ability to multi-task.
The individual must exercise initiative, independent judgment and discretion within the parameters of their responsibilities.
Expected to work independently as well as in a team while providing a high level of customer service.
Animal procurement- reviewing and placing animal orders on behalf of the BU research community.
Generate corresponding cage cards and receiving paperwork in preparation for animal deliveries.
Complete general office & facility supply orders while maintaining and filing all corresponding documentation (e.g. requisitions, shopping carts, packing slips, etc.)
Prepare all necessary shipping paperwork for exports including USDA, Customs forms and customs invoices, etc.
Process facility security access applications.
Book procedure rooms using the R25 Room scheduling system
File all office documentation in accordance with BU and BUASC audit guidelines
Associates Degree and 1-3 years of experience required. Bachelor's Degree preferred.
