Assistant Professor of Finance
The University of Kentucky is currently seeking an Assistant Professor in the Department of Finance. Applications are invited from candidates with outstanding quantitative and communications skills and a demonstrated capacity for high-level research. Applicants should have an expectation of publishing in the JF, JFE, and/or RFS or comparable outlets. Support for this position will come from the newly established John H. Schnatter Institute for the Study of Free Enterprise, and the appointee will play a role in the growth and development of the Institute. Application review will begin in November 2017, and we will interview at the AFA meeting in Philadelphia in January 2018. The start date for the position is August 2018.
The Finance Department at UK has a highly productive core of research-oriented faculty that have published extensively in top finance journals. The department has a vibrant PhD program and hosts an annual, boutique conference (For past programs see: http://www.uky.edu/financeconference). Salary and teaching load are competitive with leading public universities.
UK is located in Lexington, which is in the heart of the beautiful Bluegrass Region. Lexington frequently ranks near the top of many 'Best Cities' lists, including Forbes, Kiplinger, and The Atlantic.
