Applications are invited for an Assistant or Associate Professor 9-month, tenure-track faculty position in Clinical Exercise Physiology in the Department of Kinesiology.
Primary responsibilities include teaching in Clinical Exercise Physiology area at the graduate and undergraduate levels and establishing/maintaining a strong independent research program to include pursuit of external funding. Engagement in departmental, university, and professional service activities is also expected.
The Kinesiology Department (http://www.uncg.edu/kin/) has 27 full-time faculty in the sub-disciplines of Athletic Training, Biomechanics, Community Youth Sport Development, Exercise Physiology, Motor Behavior, Pedagogical Kinesiology, Sport & Exercise Psychology, and Sport Sociology. The department is one of ten departments or programs in the School of Health and Human Sciences (http://www.uncg.edu/hhs/) at UNCG. Faculty have a history of excellent teaching, scholarship, and professional service, and the doctoral program was highly ranked in the most recent (2010, 2015) national rankings of doctoral programs in kinesiology. The department is well-equipped for assessment of human performance, biochemistry, and body composition (https://kin.uncg.edu/research/labs/) and has access to contemporary animal facilities. Kinesiology is the 3rd largest department at UNCG serving approximately 800 undergraduates and 150 graduate students. The department offers B.S., M.S., M.S.A.T., and Ph.D. degrees, as well as an online Ed.D. Earned doctorate in exercise physiology or related area. The candidate should also have a demonstrated record of nationally recognized scholarship and must show potential to collaborate in research with faculty in the Department of Kinesiology.
The Registered Clinical Exercise Physiologist or Certified Clinical Exercise Physiologist credential from the American College of Sports Medicine is preferred.
