The University of Kentucky is currently seeking applications for an Assistant or Associate Professor in the Department of Health Management. Department faculty maintain a robust teaching agenda in the college's academic programs, which include the Master of Public Health (MPH), Master of Health Administration (MHA), the Doctor of Philosophy in Epidemiology and Biostatistics (PhD), the Doctor of Public Health (DrPH), and a college-wide Bachelor of Public Health (BPH) degree.

The Assistant or Associate Professor will primarily be responsible for contributing to a growing faculty research capacity in public health and health care systems and services. Teaching responsibilities will include both core and elective courses in the College of Public Health MPH, BPH, DrPH, and MHA degree programs. The service component will include continuing education and training for the public health workforce and related professionals as well as service to local, state, and national public health and health care organizations.

This position will be responsible for obtaining extramural research funding support, publishing research findings, and preparing for positions of national or regional leadership in the field. The research infrastructure of the College is supported by a number of academic centers on campus, including: The National Cancer Institute-designated Markey Cancer Center, The Kentucky Injury Prevention and Research Center, Sanders-Brown Center on Aging, The Southeast Center for Agricultural Health and Injury Prevention, and the NIOSH-funded Central Appalachian Regional Education and Research Center.

Required Education

PhD, DrPH, or other relevant terminal degree. For applicants with terminal degrees in clinical fields there is a preference for those with a Master's degree in public health, health administration, or a related field.

Required Related Experience

Successful participation in extramural funded research and scholarly publication relevant to public health and health care systems and services.
Teaching experience in graduate programs.
