Advertised Job Summary
The Counselor Education Program in the Department of Educational Studies at the University of South Carolina invites applications for a 9-month full-time Assistant Professor (tenure track) in Counselor Education with preferred expertise in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. The anticipated start date for the successful applicant is August 2018.
The successful applicant will: (1) pursue a line of research leading to publication and external funding; (2) provide leadership in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling degree track; (3) teach core and specialty courses in the entry-level programs and doctoral program in Counselor Education and Supervision; (4) serve on doctoral committees and advise entry-level students; (5) serve on program, department, college, and university committees.Required Education and Experience
Candidates should have: (1) an earned doctorate in Counselor Education, preferably from a CACREP-accredited doctoral program (current counselor educators with other doctoral training and at least one year of experience working in a Counselor Education program prior to 2013 will be considered); (2) a track record of R1 level scholarship and potential for obtaining external funding; (3) experience teaching and supervising in counselor education; (4) licensed or license-eligible as a Licensed Professional Counselor in South Carolina; and (5) experience and commitment to diversity training and working with diverse populations.Preferred Qualifications
