Job Summary:

The University of Colorado Denver l Anschutz Medical Campus is seeking applications for a Time-Limited Professional Research Assistant. This full-time, University Staff (non-classified) position is responsible for: performing clinical research duties, follow-up calls and other duties as delegated and outlined in the research protocol. This position is seasonal and will end June 30, 2018.



Examples of Work Performed:
  • Study participant follow-up calls and in person study visits (80%)
  • Collaborate with study team, Principal Investigator and Research Project Manager
  • Solve participant retention and study design changes
  • Sample collection and processing
  • Tracking participant participation
  • Scheduling/Organizing study visits
  • Survey administration
  • Ordering Supplies
  • Maintaining study document supply and patient folders
  • Data entry
  • Other various research duties directly related to the research protocol



PLEASE NOTE: Candidates will be responsible for travel expenses related to the interview process and any relocation expenses, if applicable.

Salary and Benefits:

The hiring salary for this position is $35,000 and is non-negotiable and commensurate with skills and experience. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation. Qualifications

Please note that these positions will work on a specific, time-limited grant (one year period). There is no guarantee that we will be able to continue employment past this time frame, although preferential hiring will be given to these employees at the time the grant expires, dependent upon the quality of their work.




Minimum Qualifications:

  • BS/BA or BSN
  • Experience with conducting the Informed Consent Process
  • Computer experience, especially using Microsoft Excel and an Electronic Medical Records system

Condition of Employment:
  • Each position will have a specific schedule need (evenings/weekends):


1.Children's Hospital Colorado North Campus in Broomfield. Shifts are 8 hours long, currently 2-10 pm, Thursday through Monday.

2.Children's Hospital Colorado main campus (Anschutz Campus). Shifts are 8 hours long, currently 2-10 pm, Sunday through Thursday.

3.The preference is that that these positions could alternate locations/shifts, but is subject to discussion with all candidates.
  • COMIRB CITI and HIPAA requirements for researchers must be met prior to first ED shift;
  • Must abide by hospital, University, local, state, and national regulations regarding human subject research;
  • Must successfully pass a drug test through Children's Hospital Colorado;
  • Must be willing and able to pass a national criminal background check.

  • Ability and willingness to be present in patient rooms during procedures that may or may not be related to the study
  • Knowledge of basic medical terminology
  • Accuracy and strong attention to detail
  • Must have excellent organizational ability


Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in clinical research and/or clinical experience
  • Bilingual/Spanish-speaking skills a plus
  • Familiarity with emergency/outpatient setting
  • Experience in interviewing and ability to execute these skills with persons under emergency conditions
  • Pediatric experience
