Required Qualifications: (As Evidenced by an Attached Resume)

Doctorate in Physical Therapy and Certification in Neurological Physical Therapy. Experience with overall supervision of this treatment/study intervention, which requires the skills and expertise of a physical therapist. Experience in treating patients with SCI and an understanding of spinal cord injury rehabilitation.

Preferred Qualifications:

Additional years of experience in treating patients with SCI. Training and certification in performing Locomotor training at one of the NeuroRecovery Network (NRN) sites.

Brief Description of Duties:

This position involves performing Locomotor training for people with spinal cord injury (SCI). This requires physical assistance of the lower body while participants are walking on a treadmill with body weight support. These manual skills are also carried over to walking over ground after the treadmill training. Suggestions for carry over in the home and community environments are also required. The position is supervisory in nature, where there is an oversight of the study trainers who do not have a physical therapy degree, but typically have a health background. Finally the incumbent will be assisting with study evaluations before and after Locomotor training and documenting properly on the study data forms as well as assisting with IRB documentation

  • Perform and supervise Locomotor training for SCI participants
  • Perform evaluations on patients and document the required findings.
  • Assist with IRB documentations and submissions.

Special Notes: FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA. Minimum salary threshold must be met to maintain FLSA exemption
