Required Qualifications (as evidenced by an attached resume):

Bachelor's Degree. Two years full time experience working with access control systems, databases and/or administrative management software. Experience with PeopleSoft and/or Microsoft Office Suite. Must have, keep and maintain the appropriate valid NYS Driver's License; have a motor vehicle record which is free from major violations or a pattern of repeat violations (***Out-of-State applicants, see "Special Notes").

Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Lenel software systems or other security/access control systems.

Brief Description of Duties: The Programmer/Analyst will support two incumbents in all aspects of Lenel software programming, schedule changes, troubleshooting, and updates.

  • Works with hardware field technicians to troubleshoot software settings and hardware readers or inputs configured in the field.
  • Understand and setup access levels for various "user groups" on campus using Lenel card access system to accommodate the scheduling needs within each area.
  • Verify PeopleSoft Human Resources records and ID card information to correctly categorize various campus cards and ID badges currently utilizing the Lenel card-access system.
  • Assist with classroom schedule updates and reservations for class-meetings and special-events.
  • Assist campus building managers and other administrative personnel as needed to coordinate building opening and closings and make schedule changes as necessary.
  • Assist with the scheduling of Campus Residence dormitory areas Lenel including perimeter access or special openings and closings.
  • Regularly monitor the Lenel system software for any alarms or errors identified with any card access hardware in the field.
  • Configure the Lantronix and other IP devices which Lenel system utilizes to provide proper communications between field hardware panels and servers or databases.
  • University Police or other authorized areas with Lenel user reports as requested or directed.
  • Other duties or projects as assigned as appropriate to rank and departmental mission.
  • Special Notes: This is a full-time appointment. FLSA Nonexempt position, eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA.
