The Ithaca College School of Music announces a full-time renewable non-tenure-eligible position in instrumental music education at the rank of Assistant Professor. Duties will include teaching instrumental music methods courses, teaching secondary instrument classes, and mentoring/supervising student teachers. Other duties may include teaching undergraduate and graduate music education courses based on candidate expertise or program needs. The successful candidate will have a broad understanding of musicianship and a commitment to engaging diverse populations through contemporary music teacher education practices.
Doctorate (or ABD) in music education. Successful teaching experience in instrumental music at the elementary/secondary level is required (minimum three years), with additional experience at the collegiate level preferred.
