RESEARCH TECHNICIAN, School of Medicine, Ophthalmology (9062/J0317)
Boston University's School of Medicine, department of Ophthalmology is looking for a full-time Research Study Technician to join their team!
The Research Study Technician will primarily be responsible for:
1) communicating with collaborators in other universities to receive eye tissues and process the tissue for light and electron microscopy.
2) assisting in the preparation of eye tissues and communicating with collaborators to perform image acquisition using serial block-face scanning electron microscopy.
The specific responsibilities of this position include embedding, sectioning, imaging eye tissues for light and electron microscopy and data analysis as well as essential three-dimensional EM reconstruction tasks, such as management of the large data sets, identifications of target cells, labor-intensive tracings of target cells and organelles, creations of 3D models, and analyses of 3D structural data.
This position is grant funded.
12+ months of experience and Bachelor's degree required.
