Posting Summary:
The University of Virginia Library is currently seeking a Senior Finance Generalist to work on the Library's Budget Team. The successful candidate will perform the following functions: lead daily cash and deposit transactions including bank, gift and credit card functions and perform monthly GL reconciliations, provide financial analysis support using the University's data tools including UBI, Oracle and Advance to help in budget and reporting initiatives for the Department, prepare monthly staff payroll reconciliation for approximately 230 FTE, serve as back up in Oracle Award Manager role. Qualified applicants must have a Bachelor's degree preferably in business administration, finance or accounting and a minimum of four years of fiscal experience including experience working with complex fiscal data and reporting; experience working for a non-profit or state entity; and experience with data queries, pivots and reports. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of financial principles and accounting practices; be detail oriented; and have strong quantitative analytical skills. In addition, the successful candidate will have the ability to apply University Policy & Procedures; the ability to work with fiscal data; the ability to work independently in a constantly changing environment; the ability to organize time and work assignments effectively; and the ability to work accurately with attention to detail including resolving complex problems. Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to communicate with staff across many levels and areas of the Library and University are also required. The ideal candidate will have advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel). Proficiency in Oracle Financial Modules and UBI are preferred.
