Summary of Job Duties

To utilize the nursing process to provide direct and indirect patient care in the Primary Medical Clinic. This position has a strong focus on patient assessment. The Registered Nurse in this position will work with a team of medical providers and nurses to facilitate patient flow and must be able to identify urgent/emergent situations. Therefore, strong physical assessment skills and triage knowledge is essential. Due to fluctuations in patient volume, cross training in other areas of the clinic is mandatory. Responsibilities include but are not limited to obtaining patient history and physical assessment, application of orthopedic devices, wound care, IV therapy, assisting with minor surgical procedures and administration of medications, immunizations and treatments.

  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse by the Arkansas State Board of Nursing in accordance with ACA 17-87-301
  • Associate's degree in Nursing from an accredited institution of higher education
  • At least five years registered nursing experience
  • At least one year of emergency room experience
  • Recent IV experience

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing with seven years of registered nursing experience
  • Surgical experience
  • Possess a wide range of nursing skills with a focus on patient assessment and a variety of nursing experiences that includes nurse triage in an emergency room or acute care setting
  • College health experience

  • Wound care management and assessment knowledge
  • Knowledge of removable orthopedic devices and custom casts/splints
