Logistics Supervisor Night (5pm - 2 am)
A leading successful food manufacturer located in Northern NJ has an outstanding opportunity for a Night Logistics Supervisor (starting 5 pm) to oversee and ensure that products are shipped and received according to schedules and established procedures. As Logistics Supervisor, you will balance quality, productivity, cost, safety and morale to achieve positive results in all areas.
Must be flexible to work extended hours, holidays, and provide coverage on various shifts.
Specific Responsibilities / Accountabilities
o Maintain and execute the daily shipping schedule and ensure the timely and efficient shipping of product to the customer.
o Review daily production scheduling and sequencing.
o Maintain proper inventory levels, by analyzing material inventory and production requirements, and report shortages in advance.
o Continuously communicate with other departments/people that support and depend upon the Logistics Department.
Product Quality / Food Safety
o Maintain Good Manufacturing, Food Safety and Quality Practices.
o Recommend measures to improve the quality of products and production methods.
o Take all measures necessary to ensure food safety and quality.
o Recommend measures to improve the quality of department operations.
Human Resources / Safety
o Ensure a safe, clean and productive work environment, and assist in maintaining a positive employee relations climate throughout the organization.
o Oversee the training of personnel in the performance of job responsibilities, including the safe and proper handling and/or use of material, tools, machinery, and equipment.
o Assist in maintaining an adequately staffed, well qualified, and fully trained Logistics organization.
o Implement changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency.
o Thorough knowledge of production and shipping scheduling, inventory management, budget planning, process efficiency, sanitation, safety and hygiene.
o Working knowledge of food safety and an understanding of HACCP.
o Familiarity with the Oracle System.

- Outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with management staff and employees.
- Self-motivated and goal oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast paced production environment, with a high energy, proactive style.
- Strong supervisory, team building and technical skills.
- Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) a plus!
o A solid logistics background with 3-5 years of progressively responsible experience in a supervisory/management capacity within a USDA-regulated food manufacturing environment.
