Requisition Number: STFR004060

Division/College: Bouve College of Health Sciences

Location: Boston Main Campus

Full-time/Part-time: Full Time

Responsibilities:

Postdoctoral Research Associate with demonstrated experience in G Protein Coupled Receptor (GPCR) research through publications. Expertise in opioid GPCRs is essential as the project will involve studies of heteromers of opioid receptors with other GPCRs.
The laboratory skills needed for this position include: Cell culture and Cell biology (e.g. establishment of cell lines, cell lysis and fractionation, Bioluminescence Resonance Energy Transfer (BRET) and kinetic measurement for G protein-mediated responses; Pharmacology (e.g. ligand-receptor binding assays, in vivo metabolic labeling and measurement of the labeled products); Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (e.g. co-immunoprecipitation, protein expression in bacteria and purification, DNA/RNA extraction and purification, cloning, PCR, RNA experiments); Cell imaging and Histology (e.g. optical microscopy, fluorescence microscopy, immunocytochemistry).

Qualifications:

The candidate must hold a Ph.D. degree in the Health Sciences. Some postdoctoral experience would be preferred.
The candidate should have extensive experience in G Protein Coupled Receptor (GPCR) research as demonstrated through publications in high impact journals with particular focus on opioid GPCRs.
The desired technical skills include: Cell culture and Cell biology (e.g. establishment of cell lines, cell lysis and fractionation, Bioluminescence Resonance Energy Transfer (BRET) and kinetic measurement for G protein-mediated responses; Pharmacology (e.g. ligand-receptor binding assays, in vivo metabolic labeling and measurement of the labeled products); Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (e.g. co-immunoprecipitation, protein expression in bacteria and purification, DNA/RNA extraction and purification, cloning, PCR, RNA experiments); Cell imaging and Histology (e.g. optical microscopy, fluorescence microscopy, immunocytochemistry).
