JOB SUMMARY:


Provide technical and engineering support: Programs, develops, and support product and Operating Systems for mission critical systems. Collaborates with Clemson teams and ensures compatibility with backend systems and existing architectural direction. Research and develops enhancement to new and existing systems. Assists in the research and development of computing systems. Performs other duties as assigned.


JOB DUTIES:


35% - Essential - Serves as subject matter expert. Program, create, develop, install, support and maintain software on mission-critical systems. Tunes systems for optimal performance. Tracks system capacity. Ensures system stability.

20% - Essential - Train and advise less skilled systems programmers and provides expert technical assistance for others. Serve as an engineering liaison between teams and departments. Determine best practices and appropriate architectures.

20% - Essential - Problem Solving; review and analyze use and logs on a regular basis. Collect and interpret problem information using dump and traces. Interface with other technical and engineering personnel to gather problem information and determine solutions.

15% - Essential - Serve in on-call rotation. Follows industry standard best practices and CCIT policies and procedures.

10% - Essential - Contribute to research and development projects as required.


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:


A high school diploma and work experience in the modification and maintenance of system programs, the design and development of system software, or the testing and debugging of system software. An associate's degree or a bachelor's degree in a related field may be substituted for the required work experience.

WORK SCHEDULE:


Standard Hrs: 37.5; Band: 06 ($ 39,960.00 - $ 73,935.00)


BENEFITS INFORMATION:


Employees who are in time limited positions will earn one and one-quarter days of Annual and Sick Leave per month for a total of thirty (30) days per year. Eligible part-timers will earn days on a pro rata basis.
