Essential functions of this position:
The position is the administrative and technical back-up and support for the University’s One Card operations including point-of-sale system (POS), meal plan software application, along with all associated peripheral equipment. Position includes analysis and programming configuration, report generation, along with assisting with other administrative systems to insure the efficient flow of data as needed to assist other Auxiliary Services operations such as Parking and Transportation parking lot electronic access gate and peripheral equipment.
**Special hours and back-up responsibilities are part of this position so this is designated as “back-up” for the University’s One Card system and services including Point of Sale and on-line Meal Plan application. As such, the position will share duties with the manager in providing after-hours coverage for One Card operations. Serve as the principal back-up in the resolution of One Card operating software issues and administrative services. Position will also serve as the lead coordinator with the Dining Services POS Register Technician in helping maintain the Dining Services POS equipment assigned to them.
May serve as a project lead for various assignments to include process improvement initiatives with technology as the foundation. Helps develop requirements, outlines, budgets, and schedules for UNCW One Card technology projects to ensure the University is at the forefront of card service technologies.

N.C. Minimum Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
Graduation from high school and one year in the field of technology related to the positions’ role. Computer coursework may be substituted year for year for the required experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Additional knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform the essential functions of the position:
Position requires proficient skills in business information systems and technology in order to effectively provide technical and program support for the One Card, Parking, and Auxiliary Services operations along with recommending technical input for the ongoing development of computing resources
Position requires excellent interpersonal skills and a strong problem solving and communication abilities
Knowledgeable with O/S upgrades and system installations along with analyzing and helping resolve One Card and Meal Plan system problems
Must possess strong financial and analytical skills including ability to use MS SQL to produce reports and analyses
Must have Working knowledge of data communications network (TCP/IP, Ethernet and WI-FI) and a strong database (SQL) script writing skills
Competent in MS Office and MS Access
Strong knowledge and experience working with computer application systems
Working knowledge with data communications, network systems and security
Strong organizational and analytical skills and attention to details
Must have ability to meet deadlines and ability to handle stressful situations accordingly
Must have ability to manage through crisis and extenuating circumstances

Preferred education, professional skills and experience:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent degree in Information Technology, or business administration or an equivalent combination of education and experience preferred
Strongly prefer experience in higher education settings with campus card programs including card transaction systems, access control systems, technologies in card systems and the hardware equipment and integrations

Certifications or licensure required to perform the essential functions of the position:
PC Technical Certification
Knowledge of PCI certification and standards

Recruitment Range: $45,000 - $48,500
NC Salary Grade Equivalency: 63
Hours Per Week: 1.0 (40 hours per week)
