Degree and Area of Specialization:
Bachelors Degree in Animal Science, Biology, or related
- or - Associates Degree with Certified Veterinary Technician license and a minimum of 2 years experience in animal research.
Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:
Either a minimum of 1 year of undergraduate animal research experience as part of a bachelors program or a minimum of 2 years of prior animal research experience.
This position requires knowledge, skill and independence of action in support of the daily operational needs of the Department of Animal Sciences Swine Research and Teaching Center (SRTC) to help expand the large animal biomedical research and teaching programs. This position will primarily focus on research projects and instruction involving swine, but will also include other large animal species as projects develop. The position will be based at the Swine Research and Teaching Center (SRTC) in Arlington and will include frequent responsibilities at the campus Livestock Laboratory and other campus facilities as projects require. Among other duties, this position will assist veterinarians and researchers in the pre-, peri- and post-operative care of animals.
Salary and title will be based on prior experience.
