Position Summary

The Department of Biochemistry & Molecular Biology at Michigan State University is inviting applications for a fixed-term faculty position at the Assistant Professor level to conduct research in plant sciences.

This position is part of a research group led by Dr. Polly Hsu.  Projects to be developed will include genome-wide mRNA translation and peptide signaling in plant responses under diurnal cycles and environmental stress.

Required Degree

Doctorate -Biology related field

Minimum Requirements

A doctorate degree in a Biology related field. Must be fluent with R and Python programming and be familiar with Shiny app development. Applicants with prior experience in both wet lab and large-scale data analysis (microarray, RNA-seq and Ribo-seq) is required.  Needs to be able to communicate well with both experimental biologists and data scientists and involve in experimental design with proper statistical considerations

Desired Qualifications

Additional degrees in statistics and bioinformatics are preferred.
