The UConn Stamford Campus is seeking applicants for a full-time Administrative Services Assistant (UCP 4). The Stamford campus is located at the heart of downtown Stamford. The campus offers four-year undergraduate degrees in a number of majors, Business Administration, Business Data Analytics, Financial Management, Digital Marketing and Analytics., Computer Science, Digital Media and Design, Economics, English, , Human Development and Family Studies, History, Political Science, and Psychology. At the graduate level, the campus offers the Master of Business Administration (MBA), Masters in Business Analytics and Project Management, and the Master of Science in Financial Risk Management (MSFRM) degrees. The Stamford campus' location in lower Fairfield County provides access to internships, field placements and jobs with Fortune 500 companies, investment and banking institutions, non-profit organizations, and civic, education and community agencies.

This position provides administrative and program support to the Registrar Office and the Bursar Office on the UCONN Stamford Campus. Under direction of designated administrators, performs a variety of administrative duties and assists with administrative matters; serves as initial contact for students, faculty and external agencies. Ability to work independently, exercising judgment and initiative in performing the full range of duties within the context of previously designed procedures and systems.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Organizes and coordinates the support activities of the assigned offices to assure efficient and effective operations; drafts campus messages and web site communications; assists assigned supervisors with administrative support in matters of a confidential nature in regards to enrollment services, bursar services, financial aid services and veterans' services.
  • Provides students, faculty and staff with correct procedures for completion of a wide variety of online and print forms including enrollment services, bursar, financial aid and veterans services forms; explains applications, requirements and restrictions; reviews completed forms for accuracy and completeness.
  • Oversee the management of the One Card operation for the regional campus. Serve as liaison to UCONN Parking Services and with supervision, communicate policies and protocols, and distribute permits to faculty/staff/students.
  • Assists in interpretation/evaluation of fee bills and enrollment records within broad guidelines and matter that pertain to student registration.
  • Independently composes, compiles, prepares reports, provides preliminary analysis, memoranda, agendas, minutes, statistical, narrative or technical reports and financials
  • Initiates and answers telephone calls, screens and directs bursar and registrar calls and directs visitors to appropriate personnel; schedules and confirms appointments.
  • Orders, stores, and issues office supplies and materials to appropriate office. Maintains shared resources.
  • Coordinates activities; organizes, and maintains calendars for supervisors.
  • Assists office with resolving business problems related to unit operations.
  • May perform other duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  1. Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience including 4-8 years of experience in a progressively responsible administrative support position.
  2. Solid knowledge of university enrollment services and/or bursar office practices, policies and procedures
  3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and ability to effectively communicate and interact with diverse and international populations
  4. Experience with customer service principles, protocols and methods
  5. Emerging advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel and aptitude for learning and using a variety of software applications and electronic office equipment.
  6. Experience using and implementing different filing systems and/or data base management.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  1. Two years full-time employment in a related area
