The Darden School of Business seeks a Service Desk Technician to join its Client and Technical Services team. This position provides consultative and technical support services to staff, faculty and students to ensure timely problem resolution, system/data access and optimal system performance.
Provides support for desktop, mobile computing, and client/server technology.
Monitors phone, email and ticketing system to ensure that clients are responded to in a timely manner and that all issues are recorded.
Addresses moderately complex problems and will use experience and judgment in selecting among authorized procedures.
Seeks assistance when guidelines are inadequate, significant deviations are proposed, or when unanticipated problems arise.
Works with external vendors or service providers
Assists more junior-level staff in solving routine problems if necessary.
This position requires availability to work some weekends.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Ability to troubleshoot Mac and Windows computers.
Basic knowledge of printers, networks and server-based applications.
Strong verbal and written communication skills to convey technical guidance and information to users.
Strong customer service and communication skills.
Ability to configure email and wireless on mobile devices.
