Posting Summary:
The University of Virginia, Department of Chemistry, invites applications for a Postdoctoral Research Associate position in the group of Professor Linda Columbus. The field of study focuses on developing biophysical tools to investigate membrane protein structure, function, and dynamics. The research will require experience in membrane proteins and/or biomolecular magnetic resonance.

This is a one-year appointment; however appointments may be renewed for an additional two, one-year increments, contingent upon available funding and satisfactory performance. The completion of a Ph.D. in Chemistry, Biophysics, Biochemistry, or a related field is required by the starting date of the appointment.

Candidates are required to have experience in biophysical investigations of biomolecules. Knowledge and proficiency in membrane proteins is preferred. Candidates are expected to play a leadership role in the laboratory as a mentor for both graduate and undergraduate students.
