The Robert M. Berne Cardiovascular Research Center at the University of Virginia seeks a Research Associate to conduct research into the molecular and cellular role of endothelium in ischemic stroke, including inflammatory reactions and myogenic tone of the cerebral blood vessels. The role will focus on integrins and pannexins. The successful candidate will be expected to continuously write grants to further his/her career (including K99s and American Heart transition awards).
Applicants must have a PhD, MD, or equivalent degree by the start date as well as excellent written and oral communication skills. Eligibility for NIH postdoctoral fellowship funding is important, but not required.
