Posting Summary:
The Charles L. Brown Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering in the School of Engineering and Applied Science at the University of Virginia seeks a qualified candidate with expertise in semiconductor device physics to support a number of research initiatives. Candidates must have experience with design, fabrication, and characterization of optoelectronic devices, with preference for knowledge of photodetectors.
A recent PhD at the time of hire in electrical engineering, physics, or other field related to optoelectronic device technology is required. Candidates should also have familiarity with the operation and maintenance of semiconductor parameter analyzers, high-speed electronics, and spectrum analyzers. Experience in cleanroom processing techniques is also desired.

Salary and benefits offered will be commensurate with the experience and qualifications of the candidates. This is a one-year appointment; however, the appointment may be renewed an additional two one-year terms, contingent upon available funding and satisfactory performance.
