The Department of Chemistry at the University of Virginia invites applications for a Senior Scientist to serve as an X-Ray Crystallographer. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Chemistry or related field. This position requires skills in the collection and processing of single crystal and powder X-ray diffraction data, molecular structure determinations, structural analysis reports, maintenance and repair of X-ray diffractometers, ability to train and help students on the use of these instruments, and proactive management and promotion of the facility. Knowledge in small-angle X-ray scattering, X-ray tomography and/or X-ray fluorescence instrumentation, as well as years of laboratory experience beyond the Ph.D., is preferred.
