The Department of Chemistry at the University of Virginia invites applications for a Postdoctoral Research Associate, who is Interested in the dynamic and growing field of astrochemistry.
This is a one-year appointment; however, appointment may be renewed for an additional two, one-year increments, contingent upon available funding and satisfactory performance.
The completion of a Ph.D. degree in chemistry, physics, or astronomy by the starting date of the appointment (tentatively 1 January 2013) is required. The ideal candidate must have a good understanding of the interstellar medium and be able to simulate its chemistry using current gas-phase and gas-grain codes. The candidate must also be able to supervise graduates and undergraduates in astrochemistry.
