Posting Summary:
The University of Virginia's School of Engineering and Applied Science seeks a full-time Senior Administrative Assistant in the Department of Chemical Engineering to support the Department Chair.

Primary responsibilities include support for the Department of Chemical Engineering and Chair encompassing all aspects of administration, reporting, coordination of course offerings, and departmental time keeping. In addition, the incumbent will assist with graduate admissions and record keeping while coordinating Graduate Teaching Assistants for each semester and maintaining the graduate record. Additional duties include completing special projects as assigned and coordinating departmental events.

The successful candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent with experience working in an administrative capacity, be a self-starter, and able to work independently on a variety of projects. Applicants will need to demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills, and be proficient users of the Microsoft Office Suite.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Working knowledge of office practices and procedures. Proficiency with MS Office Suite. Ability to interact with executive level administrators, business executives, faculty and students. Ability to supervise office assistant.
