Posting Summary:
GEMM has been serving UVa's research community for nearly a quarter of a century. The core is looking for a scientist to fill a critical position that will bridge the core into the present and future of genome editing. The candidate should: 1) have comprehensive knowledge on state-of-the-art gene editing approaches for a variety of genome engineering applications; 2) be a highly motivated individual who has hands-on experience with the generation and delivery of CRISPR/Cas reagents; and 3) be an excellent team player with the capacity to provide service for production of genetically engineered animal or cellular disease models.

The qualified candidate will have a Bachelors Degree in Life Science along with 5+ years' experience in molecular biology and/or mouse colony genetic management.

The preferred candidate will have a PhD in Life Science and experience in Reproductive and developmental biology. The individual will also be able to Isolate and manipulate gametes or embryos, design and conduct CRISPR experiments, participate in core R&D, co-author publications, and manage and maintain a research support lab.
