Posting Summary:
The Frank Batten School of Leadership and Public Policy at the University of Virginia seeks applications for part-time lecturers interested in teaching and providing course support for undergraduate and/or graduate courses during the academic year. An advanced post-graduate degree and the ability to teach core or elective courses on major policy issues or leadership skills are required. A record of excellence in teaching is highly desirable. Compensation will take the form of wages.

Built upon the strong foundation of one of the nation's top public universities, the Batten School combines rigorous training in policy analysis with a unique emphasis on the acquisition of leadership skills and an understanding of the changing context of public policy in the 21st century. The core faculty includes economists, political scientists, psychologists, and historians, enriched by professors of practice who bring real-world policy-making expertise to the classroom. The School currently offers the MPP degree, as well as an accelerated MPP program and an undergraduate major in public policy and leadership. The School also offers dual degree programs with the Darden School of Business (MPP/ MBA), the School of Law (MPP/JD) and other UVA professional schools. In fall 2011, the Batten School moved into its permanent home, Garrett Hall, which underwent a multi-million dollar renovation and is located adjacent to Thomas Jefferson's historic Lawn. The School is made possible by a $100 million endowment gift from the late Frank Batten, Sr.

To apply, complete a Candidate Profile and attach a CV and a cover letter outlining teaching experience and indicating the names and addresses of three professional references. Review of applications occurs on a rolling basis to satisfy the School's instructional needs. Only applications completed as instructed above will receive full consideration.

The University of Virginia is an affirmative action/equal opportunity employer. Women, minorities, veterans and persons with disabilities are encouraged to apply.
